Metech recently had Roots / Dub reggae band Frantasise in the studio to record lead vocals and harmonica. Followed by a mix and master of existing recordings.
The backing tracks had previously been recorded and we got supplied these as stems, bounced out dry of any processing/effects, apart from the drums which had in-unit (drum triggered pad kit) effects burned into a stereo mix supplied. We first gave the drums some punch and sorted out the bottom/top eq using our outboard analogue Avalon compressor/eq unit. Moving on from there we went on to mix the tracks and then master them..
